Kamlepo ask IMF, World Bank to stop funding Malawi over seven rotten Cabinet Ministers

Rumphi East Member of Parliament Kamlepo Kalua who is also Deputy Chairperson of Public Accounts Committee in parliament Kamlepo Kalua says he is engaging International Monitory Fund and World Bank to suspend support to Malawi arguing government is failing to arrest seven cabinet ministers who are connected to the 577 billion frauds.

Kalua said this in an interview with one of the local daily papers (Daily Times) on Monday.

In the interview Kamlepo, popularly known as the foot soldier he is not convinced with how the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is handling the issue with the seven Ministers implicated in the report.

He said it is not right that money meant for Malawians only benefits few greedy individuals surrounding President Mutharika hence calling for donors to stop funding Malawi.

Commenting on the development, Livingstonia Synod hailed Kalua for the action taken, saying it’s time for Malawians to act on the matter.
The Synod said staying idol will not help matters at all.

Reacting to the development Minister of Information Malisoni Ndau trashed the decision taken by Kalua, saying doing so is like selling the country to the whites.

Ndau asked Kalua to come forward with the names of Cabinet Ministers implicated in the scandal, saying the President is not aware of them.
