Mutharika accuses Zodiak Broadcasting Station of spreading rumours of his death

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has attacked Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) for allegedly being in the forefront in spreading rumours of his death.

Mutharika said this in a media briefing underway at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe aiming at updating Malawians on his trip to United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States of America.

In his speech, Mutharika expressed concern over the tendency of Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) for spreading false rumours of his helth.

Mutharika then proposed that ZBS’ slogan should be changed from ‘Zikachitika Mumvela kwa ife’ to ‘Mukafuna mabodza mumvela kwaife’.

Speaking on his health, Mutharika admitted that he was unwell but now he is fit.

The President also downplayed calls by some opposition political parties in the country especially Malawi Congress Party (MCP) for agitating for his resignation, saying there is no need for him to resign.

Meanwhile the press briefing is underway.

More details to come…………….
