Mutharika expresses shock over the death of Kudontoni

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has expressed shock over the untimely death of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Ecklen Kudontoni.

Kudontoni died today in a car accident at Kasese around Bua roadblock in Dowa district while on his way to Kasungu.

Writing on his official facebook page, Mutharika said the party has lost one of the most loyal and committed members.

“Ecklen was one of the most loyal and committed members of our mighty party and he played a huge role towards our victory at the 2014 polls. My deepest condolences to his family, the Democratic Progressive Party and the entire nation as we reflect on the fruitful time that defined Ecklen’s life when he was amongst us.

“We will always remember your great deeds our brave, committed and patriotic member. May your soul rest in eternal peace!!,” reads in part the statement.

Meanwhile the body of Kudontoni has been taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital in the capital Lilongwe.
