Death has been announced of former principal secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Tressa Senzani, the first convict in the plunder of public funds at Capitol Hill dubbed cashgate scandal.
Senzani died on Monday afternoon at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre.
Her sister, Anna Kachikho, who is also Member of Parliament for Phalombe North, confirmed of the death of Senzani but refused to comment further.
Senzani was was sentenced to nine months for theft and three years for money laundering after she pleaded guilty to misusing K63.5 million from government through her private company, Visual Impact.
She was released from Prison in October for allegedly demonstrating good behavior.
