Times Group Photojournalist Bonnex Julius laid to rest

Malawians from all walks of life on Sunday flocked to Mangochi to pay there last respect to the departed award-winning photojournalist Bonnex Julius.

Julius, who was walking with Times Group died of Kidney failure in the wee hours of Sunday at Kamuzu Central Hospital KCH) in the capital Lilongwe.

Bonnex Julius won multiple local and International awards with the recent being the southern Africa Development Community (SADC) media award together with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) journalist Winston Mwale.

The death of Julius shocked many people with other people especially those in the media industry taking the sad news to social media.

Writing on his official facebook page, Kondwani Chamwala, former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) journalist said he was deeply shocked with the untimely death of Julius.

“I used to call him BonJu,”

“Today, he has closed both eyes forever. Kidney failure has robbed my friend in 📷 photography BONNEX JULIUS. His photos were amazing,” wrote Chamwala
Concurring with Chamwala, Sports Writers Association (SWAM) General Secretary Chisomo Muhammad has described the death of Julius who was also a member of the group as shocking.

“As SWAM, we are heartbroken with his sudden death as he was a committed and dedicated member of this young grouping.

“We convey our sincere condolences to Times Group, the Julius family on the loss of Mr. Julius.

His death is not only a loss to Times Group and his family but also to SWAM as a body,” wrote Muhammad.

Meanwhile faceofMalawi joins the rest of Malawians in mourning the untimely death of Bonnex Julius.
