Wild Ndipo wins Blantyre City Mayoral polls replacing Noel Chalamanda

Former Deputy Mayor for Blantyre City Wild Ndipo has been elected as Mayor for the city replacing Noel Chalamanda.

Ndipo outclassed Chalamanda, Lewis Ngalande of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and George Chipwete.

Ndipo scoped 17 votes out of 30

Meanwhile Chalamanda has congratulated Ndipo for emerging winner in the polls.

“THANKS SO MUCH BLANTYRE FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AS YOUR MAYOR. I now pass the baton to Cllr WILD NDIPO, out new mayor!

“Congratulations your worship! I pledge my total support and cooperation. I wish you well! I wish you success,” wrote Chalamanda.

He added: “To all that supported me encouraged me, spoke well of me and wished me well, I pour my profound gratitude to you. This is how democracy works. The people have spoken”.
