40 year old man is in police custody for defiling his own daughter aged 21.
Reports from Mangochi police indicate that the victim was living with her father and stepmother after her biological mother divorced with her father.
Last year in July, the stepmother went to visit her family living the two alone in the house.
One night, the rapist took advantage of the situation and dragged his daughter to the siting room where he rapped her.
Then the victim left for Mulanje the following morning to stay with her biological mother but unfortunately she was sent back after the mother noticed some changes on her.
Even though her father tried to keep the story a secret by sending the girl to live with another woman whom he also had an affair with, the effort yielded nothing as the rumour of the story spread around members of the community who reported to the police.
Later, the victim narrated the whole story to the law enforcers who made her undergo pregnancy test. and the results came out that she was pregnant
The rapist will answer the charge of incest contrary to section 157 of the penal code.
The suspect comes from Mulanje district Traditional authority Mabuka.
