Mutharika reshuffles PSs: Botolo replaces Mangani

Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed Ben Botolo as new Secretary to the Treasury (ST) replacing Ronald Mangani.

The reshuffle comes at a time when Malawians are pushing for the immediate firing of Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda who is implicated in maize-gate scandal.

Botolo was serving as principal secretary (PS) of Vice president and commissioner for disaster management affairs.

Mutharika has moved Mr Chinthu Phiri OPC as Principal Secretary responsible for Cabinet to the officer of the Vice President.

1. Director of Primary Schools Mr Msosa in Ministry of Education goes to Ministry of Lands
2. Dr Ken Ndala Director of Planning in Ministry of Education to replace Mr Msosa
3. Mr Stuart Ligomeka Comptroller of Statutory Corporations
4. Mr Zangazanga Chikhosi has been posted to OPC as PS respondible for Cabinet to replace Mr Chinthu
5. Mr Chithu goes to the office of the VP to replace Mr Ben Botolo
6. Mr Ben Botolo becomes the Secretary to Treasury replacing Dr Mangani
7. Mrs Seodi White from Public Reforms Commission in the office of the VP to OPC as Chief Director Public Sector Reforms
8. Dr Dan Namalika Secretary for Health
Dr Ben Chisamile—Chief Director Administration in Health
9. PS Transport Chinsinga
10. Nwazi promoted to Commissioner and Secretary Disaster Preparedness, Relief and Rehabilitation
11.Mr Lucky Sikwese moves to Labour as PS replacing Sam Madula who goes to Home Affairs
12. Dr Essime Kainja- PS Gender
13. National Registration Bureau Mr Tresphore Kang’ombe
