Man arrested for illegal possession of firearm

Police have arrested Dalitso Dzama for possessing a Star Pistol with 6 live ammunitions at Kaliyeka in Lilongwe.

The suspect was arrested following a tip off that he was selling the firearm at K500,000, according to Kingsley Dandaula, spokesperson for Lilongwe Police Station.

21 year-old Dzama comes from Lifidzi village, Traditional Authority Maganga in Salima district.

In a related development, Police on Thursday recovered a Makarov Pistol with one live ammunition in a maize garden at Area 22A near the Bottle stores.

Law enforcers also got tip that some unknown people had hidden a fire arm in a maize garden at Area 22A. And the law enforcers found the pistol wrapped in a plastic carrier bag in a maize garden.
