Deputy police relations officer in Kasungu, Namwaza has confirmed the arrest of Elvis Wilima who has been on police wanted list since September, 2016 after murdering his wife.
According to Namwaza, the suspect, 35 murdered his wife identified as Likisina Mujasani using a hoe handle when they were in a garden.
The suspect was also on court bail during the period he committed this serious offence.
He was accused of killing his aunt.
Reports say, after killing his wife, the suspect bolted but he was apprehended in another village where he was working.
“Police launched a manhunt for him until March, 23 2017 when he was arrested at Chisemphere where he was working as a tenant of a man identified as Khumbo,” said Namwaza.
Police will soon come out with the plain truth as to why Wilima murdered his wife.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been charged with murder and he will soon appear in court.
