Indian Girl Born With Monkey Characters Finally Walks Upright For The First Time (photos, video)

A girl who was recently found living with monkeys and unable to talk and walk like humans has been filmed walking upright for the first time.

She is settling back to normal life slowly but still tries to escape from time to time just like monkeys do.

Doctors say she will be admitted to an orphanage since no one has claimed her.

The eight year old Indian girl who was found living with monkeys and unable to talk and walk like humans has been filmed walking upright for the first time.

In the video footage, the girl is seen taking a few tentative steps before falling on the ground. Doctors however say she is getting more used to walking upright.

The girl, who remains unnamed, was found in a remote nature reserve in Bahraich, northern India, two months ago and remains wary of humans.

A child specialist at at the hospital where she has been admitted, Dr Krishnakant Verma, said the girl is completely alone and no one has come forward to claim her. She is therefore likely to be admitted to an orphanage.

A police spokesperson, Ram Avtar Singh, confirmed that no one has claimed the girl: “We have found nothing. There have been no witnesses that have seen her in the past, and no one has come to claim her. We’ve put adverts in the newspapers, we have interviewed many people in the region. No one knows anything about her.”

Dr Verma also said the girl has tried several times to escape: “She has tried many times to run way. Sometimes she comes back by herself, sometimes the ward boys have to chase her, and sometimes we have to go look for her around the hospital.”

Watch the video of the girl taking a few steps here.
