Cecilia Chazama appointed Deputy Leader of Govt in Parliament

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed Minister of Civic Education, Culture and Community Development Cecilia Chazama as new deputy leader of government in parliament replacing Kondwani Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development has been promoted to leader of government in parliament replacing the fired Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda.

Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya made the announcement on Monday afternoon in Parliament.

Msowoya also disclosed that Mutharika has appointed Minister of Sports Henry Mussa as government chief whip and he will be deputized by Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Grace Obama Chiumia.
