Mayaya call for the immediate firing of DPP Secretary General for promoting hate speeches

Human right activist Billy Mayaya has called for the immediate firing of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Grizeder Jeffrey wa Jeffrey for promoting hate speech and tribal identity politics.

Jeffrey wa Jeffrey on Saturday during a rally attacked Karonga Central Member of Parliament Frank Mwenifumbo for refusing to join DPP and opted for AFORD, saying Mwenifumbo has made a big mistake.

She went further by saying that if Chakufwa Chihana, the founder and leader of AFORD failed to take government how will Mwenifumbo and his team manage to win power.

As this was not enough, Jeffrey wa Jeffrey said that people from the north should not dream to produce a ruling President because their population is too small than that of the south and central.

Writing on his official facebook page, Mayaya described the remarks by Jeffrey wa Jeffrey as ‘racist’.

Mayaya then asked President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to fire the Secretary General.

“Dpp Secretary General Jeffrey wa Jeffrey should be fired for promoting hate speech and tribal identity politics,” wrote Mayaya.

Concurring with Mayaya’s remarks, Executive Director for Karonga Youths for Justice and Development Steven Simsokwe described Jeffrey’s remarks that no ruling President will come from the north as an insult to the people in the region.

He said the DPP should not torture people from the northern region because of their population.

Simsokwe therefore asked the DPP Secretary General to apologize the northeners and learn regarding Malawians as one.
