Mayor Wild Ndipo orders BCC to return snatched container shops to vendors

Mayor Wild Ndipo has ordered the Blantyre City Council (BCC) to return containers used as shops by vendors at mibawa minibus terminal.

BCC together with armed police officers on Monday evening invaded Mibawa Minibus terminal removed and destroyed all containers which were used as shops.

The City Council accused the vendors of not remitting city rates.

The development angered the vendors and retaliated by converging at the City Council offices in Blantyre demanding a return of the said shops.

Meanwhile Ndipo has promised to return the shops to the vendors.
