My Dream is to Have a Car and Drive My Wife Around, But for Now Pulling Her on Trolley is the Only Option – Husband (picture)

It`s not about the car, but it’s all about love.

Chris Botha (40) from Riverlea, south of Joburg, doesn’t have his dream car yet, but it’s important for him to take care of the love of his life, Mary van Wyk.

“I’m able to load my girlfriend on my trolley and pull her around,” said Chris.

“I wish I could do more for her, but the money we make from recycling is very little.”

Chris told the People’s Paper they met about four years ago.

“We were collecting rubbish for recycling and it was love at first sight,” he said.

“I knew she was the right woman for me. She looked so innocent and I just loved her and wanted to take good care of her.”

Chris said Mary (30) often gets tired of walking after spending the day collecting recycling material.

“I make sure I pull her on my trolley on our way back home,” he said.

His wish is to own a car one day so he can drive Mary around.

“When people see us, they just laugh at us. But I want to change that one day,” said Chris.

He said he wanted people to see them in a car and remember where they came from.

“I am a patient man. I know that good things come to those who wait,” he said.

Mary said she was happy to have such a loving and caring husband.

“He doesn’t only show his love when we are on the road. He takes good care of me everywhere,” she said.
