Indian Woman Sustains Serious Wounds after a House Caught Fire in Mzuzu (picture)

An Indian woman identified as Nasim Mirza is currently admitted at Mzuzu Centre Hospital after sustaining burn wounds in the face, back, hands and legs after fire razed down their house on Wednesday in Mzuzu.

It is said that on that fateful day, the victim was asleep while other occupants of the house had gone for evening prayers, according to the victim`s husband Mr Mirza Salim who told Mzuzu Deputy public relations officer Cecilia Mfune.

“She did not know about the fire up until the watchman and other people noticed it and broke into the house through the window and successfully rescued her, said Cecilia.

It was attempted to put out the fire but those efforts yielded nothing as the whole house then got razed down by the fire.

Police in Mzuzu are still on investigation to find out the cause of the fire and the value of the damage as the owner could not tell since he is still in shock.
