A woman is reported dead after being hit by a vehicle near South End Private School along Blantyre-Chikwawa Road in Manase Township, Blantyre.
The accident happened today morning.
According to an eye witness, Benson Harry, the woman was hit while trying to cross the road to join fellow banana sellers on the other side.
“It seems she was caught unawares and stranded in the middle of the road,” Harry explained.
Blantyre Police spokesperson Elizabeth Divala has confirmed the development, but asked for more time to get details from Manase Police Unit.
But Manase Police Unit traffic office told the press that it has submitted the details to senior traffic officer for Blantyre a Mr. Chakanika who when contacted said he was waiting for Divala to collect them.
The vehicle involved in the accident registration number MH 3513, belongs to OG Madzi Drillers-Malawi Company
