Three people killed in Bus accident at Zalewa

Three people are reported dead while several others have sustained serious injuries after a bus they were travelling overturned at Zalewa in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Police in Blantyre have confirmed of the deaths in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).

It is said that the bus which belongs to City Tours Company left Lilongwe at 7pm to Blantyre upon reaching Dedza the bus had a break down.

The bus proceeded few hours later and after reaching the Zalewa junction at around 4am this morning, it overturned and fell on the shops to the right side of the road killing and injuring people in the process.

Meanwhile ambulances and police are on the scene helping and rescuing those trapped in the bus.
