Angry Mob Kill Man Pretending to be a Prostitute in Bangwe

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Limbe Police, Wisdom Nhlane has confirmed the death of unidentified man who has for so long been pretending as a prostitute with the aim of robbing men of their money and phones.

According to Nhlane, the incident happened Monday night at a bar in Bangwe Township.

“It is alleged that he used to dress like a lady at night with the aim of pretending to be a prostitute and as men hire him, he could easily rob them.

“On this fateful day, he had put on black skirt, white bra and a blouse and he got approached by a client whom he later went to room with, “said Nhlane.

While at the room, he tried to steal the client`s phone and cash but a mob came fast after the client shouted for help.

The angry mob pounded the man and it was after he was undressed that it was known he was not a lady.

Police men were called at the scene but it was too late as he had already suffered severe beating that later led to his death.

Currently, the body is at Queens Elizabeth Central Hospital`s mortuary waiting for identification and post Morten.
