Ex-Minister Yusuf Mwawa, Stambuli joins UDF

Former Minister Minister of Education, Yusuf Mwawa during the reign of Dr. Joyce Banda, Yusuf Mwawa and Clement Stambuli have joined the United Democratic Front (UDF), three years after dumping frontline politics.

The two were welcomed in the Party by the Party’s President Atupele Muluzi at Nyambadwe primary school ground in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Speaking to the crowd gathered at the ground, Muluzi said the party is currently on the rebuilding process.

“Strenthening UDF is at the centre of our thinking,” said Muluzi.

Mwawa together with 18 others were expelled in opposition People’s Party (PP) for allegedly deciding to contest as independent candidates in May 20, 2014 tripartite elections which saw President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika emerging victorious.
