Armed police officers invade court premises to force Judiciary support staff to resume work

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that armed police officers have invaded court premises across the country to force striking Judiciary support staff to return to work or leave the court premises.

According to information at hand, the order has come from President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to Inspector General of Police Lexten Kachama.

FOM”s reporter rushed to the High Court in Blantyre and found heavy presence of police both inside and outside the premise.

The situation is the same at the High Court in the capital Lilongwe.

“…akuti alandila directive kuchokela kwa ma OC kuti monday ati obwela ku ntchito adziwe kuti akudzagwila ntchito ati apo ai ngati akudziwa kuti sadzagwila ntchito ati ndi bwino tikakhale kunyumba komaso akuti azatumiza apolice for security purpose ….ife tanena kuti information yachokela kolakwika imayenela kuchokela kwa CJustice or chief resident magistrate wa region yathu,” one of the striking staff told faceofmalawi reporter.

Meanwhile support staff leaders are meeting to map the way forward
