14-Year-Old Arrested for Dancing a 1990s Jam “Macarena” in the Street of Saudi Arabia

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in Saudi city of Jeddah for dancing to a 1990s pop hit called “Macarena” in the street.

Police also blamed the boy for disrupting traffic. However, it was unclear he was going to be charged formally.

In the video, the young man can be seen dancing to the jam across the street while several vehicles wait to pass.

The video footage was posted last year but his arrest was made on Monday.

Commenting on the incident, some said the boy was a “legend” and “hero”, while others apparently agreed with the Saudi authorities, stating that he behaviour was “immoral”.

Earlier this month, a singer was arrested in the religiously conservative Islamic kingdom for using the ‘dab’ move in an onstage dance.
