Police at Mponera in Dowa have detained a truck belonging to veteran politician Rashid Gaffer who is also an MP for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for smuggling Somalian nationals into Malawi.
An eyewitness and Human right activist Billy Mayaya confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by faceofmalawi reporter.
According to Myaya, the truck was impounded yesterday.
It is said that the 30 illegal Somalians were bundled together with coal.
