46 students from LUANAR arrested for protesting against blackouts

Date:

Police in Lilongwe have arrested 46 students of Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).

The students were protesting after the management refused them a bus which they wanted to use to deliver a petition to Escom offices on persistent electricity black outs at the college.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula has confirmed the development in an interview with Times reporter.

Dandaula said the students will not be released until they finish their investigations.
