Govt spend MK64 million in refurnishing Chief Secretary’s house (see this)

Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates that government has spent more than MK64 million in refurnishing the house of Chief Secretary to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, Lloyd Muhara.

This has been disclosed in a letter addressed to the Office of the Direct of Public Procurement dated November 17, 2017.

The expenditure has raised eyebrows among Malawians including the officer of the President and Cabinet (OPC).

Writing on his official facebook page, one of the human right activist Billy Malaya expressed sadness on the expenses and method used in procuring the furniture.

“Olo furniture yake itakhala ya golide ndi ma diamonds mpakana 64 million kwacha. Mxxiest MBAVA,” wrote Mayaya.
