Three armed robbers are reportedly to have disarmed a police officer and robbed Mugabe’s Mansion in located in Harare.
The trio appeared in Harare court after they robbed materials worth nearly $5000 from the mansion of Robert Mugabe’s only daughter, Bona Mugabe and the oldest of his three children with Grace Mugabe.
It is said they had used a hired truck to cart away 80 wooden boards after they overpowered the police man guarding the site and tide his hands and feet with wire , reports Zimbabwe’s state run Herald.
The stolen boards were sold at various open air markets around Harare and were identified by a construction worker who reported the matter to police.
In court, the three men pleaded guilty to armed robbery and were due to be sentenced on Wednesday.
It is reported the stolen items were being used to finish construction of a new mansion belonging to Bona Mugabe.
The massive excavation work is being done at a site on outskirts of Harare, not far from Robert Mugabe’s own Blue Roof mansion in Harare’s plush Borrowdale suburb, according to News24.
