Lucius gives credit to former President Bakili Muluzi

Veteran musician Lucius Banda who is also United Democratic Front (UDF) Member of Parliament for Balaka North on Saturday hailed former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi for the role he played in changing the country from one party system to Multiparty.

Banda made the remarks as he was wishing the former President 75th birthday which he shares with his last born son Mapiri Bakili.

“A very happy birthday to the man I still look up to as a father, former President Dr Bakili Muluzi.

“I can’t say more but wish you many more happy and healthy years,” wrote Banda who is now vying for UDF Presidency.

He added: “You are an inspiration to many including me. You change the country from a one party system to a democratic system that we are still enjoying today.

“And thank you for sharing your big name to my last born son Mapiri Bakili one who shares the birthday with you.”

Muluzi took over the reign of power from Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda and he ruled the country for 10 years from 1994 to 2004.
