Malawian Husband Injures Wife for Following him to his Second Wife’s House

A 22-year-old woman in Lilongwe has had her both arms fractured by her husband after she followed him to his second wife’s house.

The husband, 40-year-old Friday Joe Dyson has since been arrested by police.

According to Kanengo Police spokesperson Laban Makalani, Dyson who is a well-known plumber in area 25B has two wives who stay in separate houses.

On Tuesday, Dyson went to his second wife’s house without knowing that his first wife (the victim) was following him.

After the victim arrived, a quarrel erupted between her and Dyson.

“In the course of quarreling, Dyson severely assaulted his first wife up to the extent of breaking her arms and also bruised some parts of her body,” said Makalani.

After the matter was reported to police, the victim was referred to Bwaila Hospital for a treatment.

Meanwhile, Dyson has been taken to police custody for charges of causing grievous harm under section 238 of the penal code.

He hails from Chiswe village, Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre while the victim is from Namonde village, Traditional Authority Nkalo in Chiradzulu.
