Police officer hit to death by speeding minibus in Lilongwe

A police officer is reported dead after being hit by an over speeding minibus at old bunda road block in the capital Lilongwe this morning.

An eyewitness has confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as const Steven Singano NO B5199.

According to an eyewitness, Singano together with his law enforcers mounted a road block at the said place and stopped a minibus Bongo Reg 7752, which was being driven by Mr Adson Jafet age 39 of Mtsamba village TA Chadza Lilongwe.

But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle he hit the officer.

“He was rushed to hospital but due to loss of blood from the wounds that he sustained he was pronounced dead at KCH,” said an eyewitness.

Meanwhile the diver has been arrested.
