Kaliati reacts to the attacks by DPP youth cadets

Infighting in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) showed its ugly face at National Assembly this morning in the capital Lilongwe as youth cadets of the party attacked Patricia Kaliati for supporting Saulos Chilima.

The youth cadets blocked Kaliati from entering Parliament building where President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was delivering the State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Kaliati escaped the attack with the help of the law enforcers.

Speaking in an interview with the press Kaliati described the incident as “cheap politics by the ruling party”.

When contacted for comment Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi expressed shock over the incident.

Dausi said the party will investigate the matter.
