Ntchisi Thugs Injure Couple While Attempting to Rob

Police in Ntchisi are looking for unknown thugs who injured a husband and a wife after they had failed to steal from them.

Ntchisi Police publicist, Gladson M’bumpha identified the victimized family as that of Banda who resides at Ng’ombe Trading Centre in the area of Traditional Authority Kalumo in the same district.

According to M’bumpha, the alleged robbers broke into the house of Banda’s family on Wednesday armed with panga knives and sticks.

“While there, they demanded cash and also assaulted the wife and the husband, Kalirani Banda who runs a shop at Ng’ombe Trading Centre. Kalirani sustained injuries on the forehead while his wife sustained scratches on her left foot, said M’bumpha.

It is reported that the thugs escaped from the scene after Kalirani shouted for help. They did not rob anything.

The couple was taken to Ntchisi District Hospital where they were treated as outpatients.

Meanwhile, police in the district have launched an investigation to apprehend the culprits.
