Woman Found with Illicit Drugs at Chileka International Airport

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in possession of illicit drugs at Chileka International Airport.

Velian Duwa was arrested in possession of Ephedrine drug yesterday at the said airport as she was coming from India to Ethiopia.

According to reports, the woman had hid the illicit drugs in motor vehicle’s head gaskets that were contained in her bag.

Upon searching, officers broke down the gaskets in which the drugs were found in.

Following that, she was immediately arrested and she has since been charged with an offence of being found in possession of suspected illicit drug without permission.

She hails from Kankhani village in the Area of Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in Dedza District.
