A 50-year-old Zambian man identified as Coast Choongo had his manhood cut off at the weekend by the father of the 11-year-old girl he allegedly raped.
The country’s Central Province police commissioner, Joel Njase has confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday in Mumbwa around 19: 00 hours.
Witnesses at Mumbwa Main Hospital where the man was taken after the “crude operation” said he was brought in while holding his severed organ in his hands with blood oozing from the wound.
Neither the witnesses at the hospital nor Mr Njase could say what “surgical tool” the irate father used on Mr Choongo.
Mr Njase said that police officers were investigating to ascertain what had really transpired.
“Yes of course I received information of that incident and I have directed the officer in charge for Mumbwa to give me more details. I am told we have the man at the hospital,” Mr Njase told ZambianObserver.
