Mutharika blasts Chilima movement: “Ndiopusa kwambiri”

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has lambasted the grouping advocating for the country’s vice President Saulos Chilima to be the party’s torchbearer in the 2019 tripartite election describing it as stupid.

Mutharika said this on Thursday during the official relaunch of the Lirangwe-Chingale-Ma¬chinga Road in Blantyre.

In his speech, Mutharika accused the Chilima movement of being afraid of him at the convention hence the attempt to block the convention through an injunction.

“This is laughable, this is very stupid. They asked for a convention and now they are rejecting it.

“Ndiopusa kwambiri. Ndikawanyenyanyenya, ndikawapondaponda, ndikawafinya,” said Mutharika while attracting ululation from the crowd gathered at the venue.

The other group was head shouting achoke….! achoke………!.

Reacting to Mutharika’s remarks one of the members advocating for Chilima said the grouping is not moved by the remarks.

Meanwhile divisions continue to rock the ruling DPP.
