Chilima not to contest at any position at the DPP convention

The country’s vice presidents Dr. Saulos Chilima has come out of his cocoon and declared that he will not contest at any position in the much awaited Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) convention scheduled for this month.

Chilima disclosed this in a media briefing held at his office in the capital Lilongwe.

“I have decided not to contest for any DPP seat let alone contest against the President for the Party’s Presidency,” said Chilima.

Chilima also went further by disclosing that he will not attend the said convention.

He also took advantage of the press conference to thank President Peter Mutharika for choosing him to contest as Vice-President under the DPP ticket in 2014 and also thanked those who have formed the “Chilima movement for their courage”.
