Woman arrested for murdering her two year-old son

Police in Mangochi have arrested a 28- year old woman on suspicion that she murdered her two year-old son identified as Thomas Harawa Junior.

Police in Mangochi have confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi reporter and identified the suspect as Tamara Chirambo.

According to police, Chirambo and her husband Thomas Halawa on Tuesday picked a quarrel over domestic issues concerning money.

This resulted into a terrible fight between the two which made the husband to leave the house and went to his brother at Makawa for relief.

“Whilst at his brother’s house it’s when he was communicated that his son has died suddenly,” reads in part the police report.

When asked to explain what happened for child to die, the woman explained that one of the villagers fail on the child in attempt to stop the fight between the two.

But the villagers refused this, saying during the fight the child was not at home.

Postmortem conducted Mangochi District Hospital revealed that death was due to strangulation.

Meanwhile police have arrested the woman regarding the issue.
