Power users in Malawi are accessing care services online following the introduction of electrity portal by state-owned power distribution ESCOM.

This comes after the continued increase in the number of people especially youth and the middle class that are using digital platforms to access products and services from paying bill to banking.

Using new platforms customers of the national power distridutor can get assistance without physical visiting or calling customer care help line.

By establishing the web portal, Escom is also reacting to concerns by consumers of delays to get services assistance like new connections, faults and checking bills.

The e-customer care service is offering various facilities from application of new service connection to reporting faults and complaints.

customers are requested to register through escom.mw.

landowners are using thier ESCOM contract numbers or contacting the company’s customer care department through email.

The service can be accessed on electronic data devices such as laptop with internet connections and mobile phones.
