As political battle seems to be on its climax in the country, Malawi’s Vice President and leader of United Transformation Movement (UTM) Dr Saulos Chilima has tipped Malawians of a non licet move which the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is planning to undertake in order to emerge victorious in the impending elections.
Chilima revealed to Malawians on Saturday during the launch of UTM in Lilongwe that the current ruling DPP has bought a spy machine through Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) that it wants to use to rig the forthcoming general elections.
According to Chilima, the spy machine will among others be recording private calls people make without their knowledge.
“We know that you have bought the machine, an evil government that wants to spy on its citizens. What are you afraid of? Do you want to know our strategies? If you want to know strategies of United Transformation Party then come and join us,” said Chilima.
However, the unshaken Chilima dared the ruling party that the move won’t be a success since they do not have the capacity to do so.
Speaking about corruption, the UTM leader urged those that are enjoying the current government by stealing public funds to swiftly return the money before he goes into power in 2019.
He warned that once voted into power, all those enjoying public funds will be in hot soup as they shall be replaced with prisoners who are serving for minor offences like stealing chickens and etc.
