Police at Muloza in Mulanje have arrested a 19-year old man for allegedly killing his young brother.
According to Mulanje police publicist, Sergeant Gresham Ngwila, the suspect hit his young brother on the head using a stick.
“The suspect, Alex Paul allegedly went for drinking upon arrival at home he started assaulting his relatives in which he later hit his brother to death while her mother has just sustained some minor injuries,” said Ngwila.
Postmortem results from Mulanje District Hospital has shown that the boy died due to severe loss of blood following head injuries.
Meanwhile the suspect will appear before court to answer a murder charge which is contrary to section 209 of the penal code.
Alex Paul hails from Zumbira village in Traditional Authority (TA) Njema in Mulanje.
