Geoffrey Kapusa to contest as MP on MCP ticket


Well-known seasoned presenter, Geoffrey Kapusa has announced his intention to contest as Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South Constituency on Malawi Congress Party (MCP) ticket.

Kapusa who was fired from state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) last year for questioning the propaganda by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) aimed at tarnishing the image of MCP made the announcement though a facebook post seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

“I am announcing today that i, Geoffrey Kapusa will brave the storm by contesting in MCP Primaries due after registration as candidate for Member of Parliament. In the same manner, i humbly ask all well wishers to support me with all the needed resources, knowledge and ideas on how we bring in MCP in Blantyre City South now under the Hon Allan Ngumuya,” wrote Kapusa.

Kapusa will face incumbent Member of Parliament for Constituency Allan Ngumuya who has defected to United Transformation Movement (UTM) and Noel Lipipa of ruling DPP.
