Skeffa Chimoto Gets K1.5 Million Cheque for Album Launch

Foundation for Irrigation and Sustainable Development (FISD) on Wednesday offered a K1.5million cheque to musician Skeffa Chimoto for his album launch.

FISD Marketing and Communications Manager, Wezzie Benso Chiumia said the organization has sponsored Skeffa so that Malawians should know what they do adding that their aim is to help the youth in Malawi.

“We always try to give Malawians in appreciation of what they do to us. They support us in our business and to us it means we have helped Skeffa and given back to Malawians, and Skeffa is an ambassador of personal development,” said Chiumia.

He said although FISD is famous in issues of agriculture, they have sponsored Skeffa’s album launch because music is their channel of doing business.

“Sports and music are not what we do, but they are the channels that get our food and security messages to Malawians,” he explained.

Chiumia further said that they have a great deal of things that are targeting the youths in as far as development is concerned.

The organization gives out agriculture loans, business loans and cash loans to anyone.

Skeffa expressed his gratitude for the sponsorship saying it is a very good beginning to him.

“It’s quite unbelievable and I am really thankful to FISD for the help. This will take me a long way, both on the event and as a musician as a whole because music is the only thing that makes me survive,” he said.

Event Coordinator for the album launch, Levison Msakambewa said they are still searching for more but as of now the assistance is enough because it has helped them secure the venue which is very important.

“People should expect a wonderful event and they should come in large numbers to this album launch,” said Msakambewa.
