MISA Malawi shocked with Kadewere’s death

Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA Malawi) Chairperson Teresa Temweka Ndanga has expressed shock over the death of long time MISA Malawi Awards Judge Owen Kadewere who passed on this morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe.

Kadewere collapsed Wednesday evening and was rushed to African Bible College (ABC) where he was referred to KCH.

In a statement released on Friday made available to faceofmalawi, Ndanga said Kadewere be remembered as a journalism trainer and one of the most dedicated and reliable judges of the prestigious MISA Malawi Annual Media Awards.

Kadewere has served as a MISA Malawi Judge for over five years, serving as chair of the Awards Committee on two occasions.

A ‘gentle giant’ as known by his fellow judges, Kadewere will be remembered as a patient and hardworking individual always available to share his knowledge and experience.

Until his passing, Kadewere was the Public Relations Officer for the TEVET Authority and active journalism trainer and mentor. He was a trained journalist with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Malawi Polytechnic and recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Chancellor College.
