Enock Phale has won the primary elections held today by the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in Salima North Constituency.

The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Constituency Jessie Kabwila boycotted the primaries describing the polls as illegal.

The presiding official of the primaries, Peter Chalera, called for her supporters to still vote for her during the polls and she got two votes.

Moses Buwa, who was also competing, withdrew.
