LILONGWE – The proprietor Tionge Jere of Malembo Lodge located at Kapiri near 6miles in Lilongwe is in Police custody at Chitsime Police Unit after being being found illegally consuming ESCOM electricity through a meter bypass at her lodge.
Information indicates that she has been enjoying electricity for a period of about a year.
ESCOM security personnel and meter artisans alongside Police detectives invaded the lodge this morning where they disconnected supply before effecting arrest.
The woman, Tionge Jere (31) hails from Mabulabo vg, TA Mabulabo in Mzimba district.
She is answering charges under the electricity act.
