Chilima returns home today from USA

State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also leader of United Transformation Movement (UTM) Party is expected to return home from United States of America.

Chilima left the country on Monday last week through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) and was escorted by UTM supporters led by its Secretary General Patricia Kaliati.

UTM Publicity Secretary Joseph Chidanti Malunga confirmed of Chilima’s return in a statement made available to faceofmalawi reporter.

Malunga said the party organized a grand welcome for its leader but the arrangement has been called off.

“Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, the decision to welcome the UTM President, Rt Hon. Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, in grand style has been *cancelled* .

“Any inconvenience caused is regretted,” said Malunga.

Recently UTM members were assaulted by suspected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets in Mangochi.

The DPP cadets also assaulted UTM National Youth Director Bon Kalindo in Mulanje.
