A 22-year-old man is in police custody in Kasungu for allegedly hitting to death his own daughter in a bid to stop her from crying as he was having sex with his wife.
The suspect has been identified as Mr Lazaro Banda who committed the offence on Friday, 18th January.
According to police report, the suspect and his wife were having sex when their baby, Teresa Banda aged 4 started crying.
In an attempt to stop her from crying as she was disturbing them, the husband hit the baby.
The next morning on 19th, the couple went farming together but as they came back, they discovered that the baby was dead.
The wife, Everesi Banda reported the matter to police which led to the arrest of her husband.
Meanwhile, the husband is in police custody as he waits to appear before court over charges of murder.
