Four people are reported dead while 8 others have sustained serious injuries after a vehicle were traveling in overturned.
According to information, the people who are believed to be youth cadets for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) were travelling to Chiradzulu to attend the commemoration of John Chilembwe which was graced by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
In his eulogy, President Mutharika described the accident as unfortunate.
He then directed the Chief Secretary to government Lloyd Muhara to ensure that government assists the bereaved families.
It is believed that there were 45 people in the vehicle.
