Parent fined MK250,000 for assaulting a teacher in Mchinji

A Magistrate’s court in Mchinji has fined a mother, Martha Phiri, Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Kwacha for assaulting a teacher at Bua Primary School.

According to the court’s findings, the 38 year old mother physically attacked the teacher after disciplining her child following misconduct at school.

Mchinji Police spokesperson, Kaitano Lubrino said Phiri beat up Manes brown aged 34, who sustained injuries and was rescued by fellow teachers.

In the ruling, second grade magistrate Governor Chiipanthenga found Phiri guilty and fined her Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Kwacha.

The accused comes from Traditional Authority (T/A) Mduwa in the district while Manes Brown comes from T/A Kalolo in Lilongwe.
