Malunga asks Malawians to embrace the culture of buying locally made products

By Robert Kumwenda

President for Leather Association of Malawi (LIAMA) Edward Malunga has asked people in the country to embrace the culture of buying locally made products.

He said that it is sad that many people are still buying foreign made products yet we are promoting the buy Malawi strategy launched by the president Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

“We must love our country by promoting ourselves because we shall never have any other Malawi,” he said.

Malunga who is also the managing director for Bantu Arts and Craft said there is some little progress going on the ground since the launch of leather studio a couple of months ago but he said they are still looking for markets saying that he cannot blame government.

Bantu Arts and Craft is located in Chichiri Trade fair ground in Blantyre.
