Chilima presents nomination papers to MEC

United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also State Vice President has finally presented his Presidential nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) at Comesa Halla in Blantyre.

Chilima arrived at Comesa Hall together with his runningmate Michael Usi, former Country Director for Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA).

Speaking after presenting nomination papers to MEC Chilima hinted that UTM has brought about youthful leadership which is not in the history of theft and corruption.

Chilima said he will bring about real change and end poverty across the country by not looking at the regional boundaries or tribes of the people.

Turning to the running up to the May 21 tripartite election Chilima urged Malawians to avoid foul language during campaign.

On her part, MEC Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah asked Chilima to practice issue based campaign ahead of the forthcoming May 21 polls.

Meanwhile Ras Chikomeni David Chirwa is expected to present his nomination papers at 2pm today.
